We have provided bespoke training on a wide range of topics including, Coaching for Outstanding Teaching and Learning, Lesson Study, Accelerated Learning, Psychological Wellbeing and Mindset Matters, we have advised schools on policy and strategy and provided coaching and leadership support for Senior Leadership Teams and Governors through Inset and bespoke training. We are now pleased to offer accredited Mental Health courses to those who work with children and young people.
What is Mental Health First Aid?
Mental Health First Aid is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental health issues and provide help on a first aid basis.
Mental Health First Aid won’t teach you to be a counsellor or therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis.
Who’s the training for?
These courses are suitable for everyone who works with children and young people.
Level 1 Mental Health First Aid Course
The level 1 course covers the following areas;
- What is Mental Health First Aid?
- Identifying mental health conditions
- Practical advice about how to start a conversation
- How to recognise depression, anxiety, psychosis, eating disorders, self-harm and suicide risks
Course Details
Level 1 is a half-day off-site training course which is accredited by Nuco Training and delivered by Career North.
The cost is £95 per person which includes course-related materials and a certificate. Light refreshments provided, no lunch.

Level 2 Mental Health First Aid Course
The level 2 course covers the following areas;
- All of the content of the Level 1 course
- The effects of drugs and alcohol on mental health
- The First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan
- Ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported

Level 2 is a full day off-site training course accredited by Nuco Training and delivered by Career North.
The cost is £150 per person which includes course-related materials and certificate, light lunch and refreshments.

Promoting Positive Wellbeing in schools
This course will give you tools, tips and techniques to enable;

- Developing a growth mindset and bouncebackability
