It has been an exciting few weeks for the new Year 7 students in Career North schools, in addition to their big move up to Secondary School they have been asked if they want FAME?
They may have been a little misled! As the F.A.M.E they were asked about is a new innovative programme being led by Career North Ltd called Focused and Achieving More from Education!
Career North faced stiff competition to successfully secure funding to boost personalised guidance for young people from The Careers and Enterprise Company.
Career North Ltd have been providing impartial, high quality Careers advice and guidance to older students for over 10 years and Director Jayne North believes ‘It’s never too early to think about your future, from a young age children should be supported to develop a good understanding of who they are, be able to identify skills, interests and abilities which will help them navigate the complex world of work and education’.
The F.A.M.E. Focused and Achieving More from Education programme is only available to Year 7 students and they have had assemblies and in-class talks about how they can get involved. All pupils have completed Action Plans which will support qualified Careers Advisers to personalise their support.
The good news is students were really enthusiastic about the opportunity to get F.A.M.E and are keen to explore the huge range of opportunities available to them in the future with many applying to be voluntary F.A.M.E. Career Champions. We will keep you posted as Career North help Year 7 pupils in North West schools to get F.A.M.E, (Focused and Achieve More in Education) and raise aspirations.
